Trees. The silent giants in our world. They give us oxygen, provide shade, warmth with their wood for fire and building materials for our homes. Even medicines.... They provide homes for many animals - thus are sometimes complete communities in and of themselves. And - even in their demise - they provide materials for art and furniture. Trees can provide items that bring us comfort to hold, joy to observe, and be heirlooms to be passed on to future generations. From the time I was the age of 12 my Grandfather and my Father built a treehouse for me in a beloved old Hackberry tree I knew trees would always be special to me. All of the wood I work with is reclaimed from fallen trees or trees that had to be removed because of disease, storms or human needs for their space. I am honored to use the wood that these trees provide us. And I strive to make objects that will be loved and enjoyed for generations from it.
